Chris graduated from Newcastle-upon-Tyne University with a BA in architectural studies. He joined Foster + Partners in 1993 and initially worked on various competitions, including the winning entries for major developments at Lisbon Expo '98, the King Faisal Foundation in Riyadh and HM Treasury in London. More recently he has worked on a hotel, residences and retail complex in Shenzhen; a 50,000sqm University for the China Resources Group in Shenzhen; and a 1.2m sqm mixed–use complex at Hangzhou. He was made senior partner in 2017.
Chris Bubb graduated from Newcastle-upon-Tyne University with a first-class BArch. He joined Foster + Partners in 1993 and has delivered major educational, residential, hospitality, governmental and commercial projects across the globe.
Chris has led many successful competition bids and his work has been displayed at Royal Academy exhibitions. He is currently involved in the design of Amaravati, a new capital city for the State of Andhra Pradesh in southern India, twin residential towers in Mumbai and a major new school of management at the DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai.
Recent completed projects range from Samba Bank HQ in Riyadh, a Le Meridien Hotel and university complex for the China Resources Group in Shenzhen and a City of London headquarters for the insurance broker Marsh.
His earlier work at the practice includes various competitions, including the winning entries for major developments at Lisbon Expo '98, Portugal, the Al-Faisaliah Center, Riyadh and HM Treasury in Parliament Square London. His work on the proposed Casino Kursaal redevelopment, Ostend, was exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. He later worked on a sustainable office building for British Gas. Completed in 2005, it was the first office building in the UK to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating. He was subsequently responsible for the masterplan design for the Robert Gordon University, and the first building therein - the Library and Faculty of Management, which was completed in 1998.
