Battersea Roof Gardens

Phase Three, a major part of the regeneration of the Battersea Power Station neighbourhood, has been designed by Gehry Partners and Foster + Partners and includes new homes and a new pedestrianised high street, known as Electric Boulevard, which is located to the south of the Grade II* listed Power Station. Electric Boulevard is the main gateway to the 42-acre development, connecting the new Zone 1 Battersea Power Station Underground Station with the Power Station. The phase includes more than 1,000 homes in a range of sizes and styles in two zones on either side of the high street, as well as a 164-room art’otel, the brand’s first in the UK, retail, eateries and office space.

Gehry Partners has designed the buildings to the east of Electric Boulevard known as “Prospect Place”, which comprises around half of the planned residential units, double-height retail spaces at street level, and Prospect Park children’s playground. Foster + Partners has designed the undulating building to the west of Electric Boulevard which brings together the other half of the planned homes, as well as offices, retail, food and beverage, and the 164-room art’otel London Battersea Power Station which opened in December 2022. Two floors of retail front on to the western side of the street, while generous breaks in the facade allow daylight to reach the public spaces below. The top of the building is laid out as one of London’s largest roof gardens with views of the Power Station, Battersea Park, River Thames and city beyond.
