David studied Urban Planning at the Harbin Institute of Technology in China before relocating to the UK to study Architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London. During his master’s degree, he focused on the relationship between design and computation, specifically in how generative design tools could be applied to urban design and masterplan projects to generate innovative design solutions. With a tenure at the practice spanning over nineteen years, David is now based in the Shanghai office. His major projects in the Middle East include Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, Haramain High-Speed Rail; the 450-kilometre high-speed rail link between the major Saudi Arabian cities of Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah and KAEC, and Lusail Stadium; the centrepiece venue for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. In Asia, David has worked on notable projects including the West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong, Ilham Tower in Kuala Lumpur and Apple Jing’An in Shanghai.
