A travel grant of £6,000 will be awarded to one student from up to 98 architecture schools with RIBA validation in the UK and abroad. It will fund international research on a topic and in a location of your choice, to be presented in a report which can be photographic, graphic or written and represented in the following years RIBA Presidents Medals Student Awards exhibition. The judging panel will comprise Lord Foster, the President of the RIBA and others they respectively invite. Submissions for the inaugural scholarship through your architecture school will be required by 28 February 2007, with travelling to be carried out by the successful applicant between June and September. Applicants will be chosen on the basis of proposals submitted for their specialist area of research, which might include: learning from the past to inform the future; the future of society; the density of settlements; sustainability; the use of resources; the quality of urban life and transport.
