Foster and Partners scooped an unprecedented five awards at the 2005 RIBA Awards Dinner last night, more than any other architect or practice. Chosen from over 500 entries, Foster and Partners winning projects are:
The Faculty Building, Imperial College (London Region)
Asprey (London Region)
The McLaren Technology Centre (South East)
The Sage Gateshead (The North)
Millau Viaduct (The EU)
The RIBA Awards are for buildings that achieve high architectural standards and make a substantial contribution to the local environment. The awards programme is the most significant for the recognition of British architectural excellence and is a firm fixture in the architectural calendar, having run continuously since 1966.
All awarded projects will be considered for a number of 'Special Awards', and will join the long-list of possible winners of the coveted 20,000 Stirling Prize, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
