At the awards ceremony for this year's AJ100 survey, held at the Savoy, London on May 2, Lord Foster was named Most Admired Living Architect. Topping the AJ survey with 21% of the vote, Lord Foster commented: I am absolutely delighted to have been voted AJ100's most admired architect. To receive recognition from my peers is a real honour in a profession that is often its own greatest critic."
9 awards were presented at the ceremony last night, 4 of which were determined by the top 100 list. The list is the result of a meticulously researched survey of the UK's biggest architects' firms and asks such questions as Who employs the most architects? Who makes the most money? What does the future hold? The remaining 5 awards were selected from entries submitted and were judged by a panel of industry experts, including Jack Pringle, Sara Fox and Roger Zogolovitch.
