The challenge in designing the interior of a yacht is often in the resolution of complex spatial and functional demands, while creating a sense of simplicity, refinement and connection with the sea. To evoke the thrill of being out on the water, Panthalassa’s design articulates the yacht’s structural form within the living spaces. The aluminium hull is expressed and complemented by a simple palette of natural materials, such as teak and saddle leather, to create a discreet sense of luxury, and an undulating chaise longue wraps around the edge of the cabin. The three levels are connected by an oval stair, which is surrounded by a screen of light-reflecting rods to project daylight back into the living spaces.
