Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House

Dallas/ USA, 2003-2009

One of five venues that comprise the new Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House will be home to The Dallas Opera, Texas Ballet Theater, touring Broadway productions and numerous other performances. In a radically reconsidered approach to the traditional opera experience, the new opera house will continue to show internationally renowned performances of excellence and innovation.

Smithsonian Institution

Washington DC/ USA, 2004-2007

The enclosure of the building’s grand central courtyard was prompted by a desire to transform the public’s experience of the Smithsonian’s galleries and provide the Institution with one of the largest event spaces in Washington.

Masdar Development

Abu Dhabi/ United Arab Emirates, 2007-2013

The first project as a result of the Masdar Initiative is a new six million square meter sustainable development that uses the traditional planning principals of a walled city, together with existing technologies, to achieve a carbon neutral and zero waste community. It will be a centre for the development of new ideas for energy production.

Pushkin Museum Extension, Moscow

Moscow/ Russia, 2007-

The Pushkin is the finest museum of European art in Moscow and one of the world’s great cultural institutions. Building on the experience of projects such as the Carré d’Art in Nîmes and the Great Court at the British Museum, in which cultural buildings were explored as part of a wider urban programme, this masterplan aims to establish a thriving cultural quarter focused on the Pushkin.
