The Foster + Partners and URS team has won an international competition to build the first private spaceport in the world - The New Mexico Spaceport Authority Building. The sinuous shape of the building in the landscape and its interior spaces seek to capture the drama and mystery of space flight itself, articulating the thrill of space travel for the first space tourists.

Shanghai Expo Theme Pavilion, China

Tthe concept for the United Arab Emirates Pavilion at Shanghai’s Expo 2010 is devised to relate to the theme 'Better Cities, Better Lives' - inspired by the principles of traditional Arab city planning.

Masdar Development

Abu Dhabi/ United Arab Emirates, 2007-2023

The first project as a result of the Masdar Initiative is a new 6 million square meter sustainable development that uses the traditional planning principals of a walled city, together with existing technologies, to achieve a carbon neutral and zero waste community. It will be a centre for the development of new ideas for energy production.

Black Sea Gardens

Byala/ Bulgaria, 2008-

A series of car free hill towns in an unspoilt setting of oak forests, meadows and river gorges, the development will create a year-round community for up to 15,400 residents. The residential clusters are tightly packed and integrated into the contours of the landscape, preserving the majority of the site as virgin terrain.
