This scheme for the renewal of the historic Edinburgh Royal Infirmary site extends the practice’s investigations into the creation of sustainable, mixed-use urban communities, continuing themes first explored in schemes such as the King’s Cross and Duisburg Inner Harbour masterplans.

Torre Caja Madrid Tower

Madrid/ Spain, 2002-2009

This new headquarters building for Caja Madrid – the largest bank in Spain - continues investigations into the flexible workplace that can be traced through a family of recent office towers, most notably for Swiss Re and Commerzbank. This degree of flexibility results in part from pushing the service cores to the edges of the plan - a strategy first used in the design of the Hongkong Bank – to create uninterrupted 1200-square-metre floor plates.

Yacht Club de Monaco

Monaco/ Monaco, 2003-

The Yacht Club de Monaco celebrates Monaco's spectacular coastline and its rich nautical heritage by creating a series of deck-like viewing terraces that step up along the harbour to offer unrivalled views out to yacht races at sea or inland over the course of the renowned Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit.
