The Thonet range of seating and tables was developed in response to an increasing number of requests for products that could be used throughout a building, in both interior and exterior spaces. Key design criteria included: economical manufacture; flexibility in use, including stackability; and a restrained appearance.
The range was conceived with a 'kit-of-parts' approach to design and manufacture. The frame components, produced by three different extrusions and one casting, can generate eleven individual products. This modular flexibility, together with various options for seat and back materials on the chairs, allows the range to be specified in almost any situation.
